Pregnant women in the Ashanti Region are set to receive the Moderna, Pfizer coronavirus jabs, the Ashanti Regional Health Directorate has revealed.

Pregnant women in Ghana were left out of the covid-19 vaccine rollout over lack on inadequate research on how pregnant women will react to the vaccine.

Speaking at a press conference, the Ashanti Regional Health Director, Dr. Emmanuel Tenkorang revealed that there is currently enough evidence to show that pregnant women can take the covid-19 vaccine.

According to Dr. Tenkorang, pregnant women are high risk when it comes to covid-19 since immunities of pregnant women are always low.

He added that the covid-19 jabs will boost the immunities of pregnant women and protect them against the virus.
