CSquared People Managers Complete Emotional Intelligence Training

The people managers of CSquared Ghana have undergone training on emotional intelligence. The two-day in-house training took place at the Accra City Hotel in Accra on the 8th and 9th of March, 2022.  The training was under theme – The Importance of Emotional Intelligence in relation to productivity and staff wellbeing. This face-to-face session would be followed up with a three-week online master course to ensure that staff will really deepen their emotional intelligence development skills for a maximum impact. CSquared is a technology company, making commercially driven investments into broadband, enabling infrastructure throughout Africa.

In the closing session on Thursday March 9, 2022, Estelle Akofio-Sowah, the Country Director of CSquared reiterated why this training has become very important, especially in these difficult times of Covid 19 and its numerous negative effects on both staff wellbeing and productivity. She was of the firm opinion that staff of companies, especially people managers must be given training that could help them deal with difficult times. She was very optimistic that what her people managers have learned will help improve their relationship with other staff at the workplace as well as aid them to manage distressing emotions effectively to improve the company’s button line.

Staff were taken through the following modules: self-awareness and management; social management; emotional safety and workplace psychological safety.

The training was facilitated by the Nation’s first internationally qualified emotional intelligence coach, James Kwesi Addison who doubles as the founder and the Chief Executive Officer of Ghana’s premier center dedicated to the development of emotional intelligence called Addison International Center for Emotional Intelligence (AICEI).

James thanked the Country Director and the executives of CSquared Ghana, for putting their people managers through this training. He was of the belief that without good people management skills, even the most promising organisations can fall apart in a flash and finally urged corporate Ghana to emulate the courage of CSquared to ensure their staff are equipped with insights and practical tools to help transform results from ‘good enough to ‘beyond expectations’
