Dec 7 an opportunity to deepen Ghana's Democratic credentials- Akufo- Addo

The President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, says the December 7th general elections will give the country another  opportunity to deepen further the country’s  democratic credentials.

The President said this while addressing the nation ahead of the General elections on Sunday, December 6.

According to him, Ghana has an enviable democratic and electoral records especially in the Fourth Republic, which should be maintained.

“We have had five presidents in the Fourth Republic with peaceful transfer of power from governing to opposition party in three separate occasions. There was a redress in the Supreme Court rather than recourse to street protest and agitations when there was a dispute over the outcome of the elections results. We have yet another opportunity to deepen further these credentials,” President Akufo-Addo told the nation.

He urged Ghanaians to help make the December 7 presidential and parliamentary elections peaceful.
