Dec.7: We’ve not endorsed Mahama-Ghana Freedom Party

The Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) has denied endorsing the National Democratic Congress presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama, ahead of Saturday’s polls.

The strong denial follows an announcement by GFP’s Deputy General Secretary, Jerry Addo, that the party had endorsed the NDC ahead of Saturday’s election.

“The Ghana Freedom Party is endorsing His Excellency John Dramani Mahama as our candidate for Saturday’s election. He is the leader we believe can deliver the change Ghanaians need,” Mr. Addo said at a press conference in Accra on Wednesday.

However, in a statement, the GFP General Secretary, George Afful, said his party has not endorsed any political party.

“I want to state unequivocally that no member of GFP has ever endorsed the National Democratic  Congress (NDC)  let alone the party itself as a group of devoted personalities,” he said.
