Defected parliamentary aspirant not our candidate- NDC

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Secretary for Asikuma Odeben brakwa, Marklord Afori, says the defected member of the party is not their parliamentary candidate.

An aspiring Parliamentary Candidate of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) for Asikuma Odoben Brakwa Constituency, Mr. Eric Kwesi Taylor issued a letter announcing his defection to the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

After the announcement, it was reported that the said Taylor is the parliamentary candidate for the Party in the Asikuma Odoben Brakwa.

Reacting to the news on Atinka FM’s AM Drive with host Ekourba Gyasi,   the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Secretary for Asikuma odeben brakwa, Marklord Afori, noted that the NDC’s candidate for Asikuma Odoben Abrakwa Constituency is Alhaji Kwabena Duncan and not Mr. Eric Kwesi Taylor as it is being speculated in the media.

He added that the said Taylor Eric is only an aspiring parliamentary candidate in the Constituency who lost woefully during the party’s primary.

“ Alhaji Alhasan Kwabena Duncan is our Parliamentary candidate and it is not true that he has resigned. He is working towards his victory come December 7. Taylor Eric Kwesi in 2009 contested as the constituency youth organizer, but had only 5 votes out of the 121 total vote cast. In 2018, he also expressed interest in contesting the parliamentary elections but also had only 42 out of the 1,236 of the total vote cast,”he explained.

In a related story, the immediate-past National Democratic Congress (NDC) Constituency Chairman for Awutu Senya West, Simon Duodu and some other 99 branch executives have also defected to New Patriotic Party (NPP).
