Deputy Attorney General rubbishes calls for Dame’s resignation

Deputy Attorney General of Ghana, Alfred Tuah-Yeboah, has said that his boss, Godfred Dame, will not resign, contrary to demands by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

He pointed out that there was no basis for his (Dame) resignation.

“The Attorney General is very resolute, very firm, and very healthy. He has undertaken his duties as Attorney General; he is currently out of jurisdiction, but very soon he will be back to carry out his duties as an Attorney General,” he said.

Mr. Tuah Yeboah was speaking to the media at the launch of Amnesty International’s 2023 report on human rights and the death penalty at the Fiesta Royale Hotel on Wednesday.

Responding to the issues arising out of the ambulance purchase trial, Alfred Tuah-Yeboah said issues of this nature are fought in court, so they are in court.

He said the focus is on the third accused person, who is in the witness stand undergoing cross-examination.

He indicated that the audios released have nothing to do with the ambulance trial case at court, if there are any.
