DWoSO’s “Consent Matters” project educates Harvard Senior High Students on consent

As part of DWoSO’s initiative, the “Consent Matters” project, supported by Amplify Change, a school-based engagement was organized at Harvard Senior High School.

The event aimed to educate students on all aspects of consent, addressing the growing need to inform adolescents about this crucial topic.

It covered important topics like types of consent, factors that influence it, power dynamics, myths, and issues related to consent and how to deal with it

In recent times, educating adolescents on consent has become increasingly important, as many young people experience unhealthy and unsafe relationships and lack control over their own choices.

This troubling trend underscores the necessity of initiatives like “Consent Matters.”

The program aimed to empower students by educating them on how to communicate their boundaries, express their preferences, and respect their choices.

This education is intended to help students make informed decisions and gain confidence in their choices.

Additionally, students were encouraged to speak up if they experienced sexual assault to receive the necessary support.

By providing this essential knowledge, DWoSO initiative and Amplify Change seeks to foster a generation of young people who are well-informed and confident in their ability to make safe and respectful choices.
