Chairman Kwadwo Boateng, who lost the Eastern Regional chairmanship position, has revealed that he is focused on ensuring that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) breaks the 8 in the 2024 elections.
Kwadwo Boateng Agyemang, who resigned to contest the Eastern Regional chairmanship position after he was reelected as New Juaben North constituency Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic lost the elections on Saturday.
Kwadwo Boateng Agyemang was reelected constituency chairman on April 30, 2022.
He, however, officially announced on Monday May 16, 2022 his intention to contest the Regional Chairman position.
His decision was after the incumbent Regional Chairman Kingston Akomeng Kissi was persuaded to withdraw from the race after a survey revealed he was going to lose his reelection bid.
Kwadwo Boateng Agyemang lost to Jeffery Konadu Addo, the sitting Eastern Region Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP)
Jeff Konadu beat Kwadwo Boateng by over 200 votes in the Saturday polls.
Speaking to press men after his victory in Koforidua, Jeffery Konadu Addo asked the grassroots to support him for victory in 2024.
“I thank the grassroots for the support. I ask all of us to come together for victory in 2024. I am here to serve and work for us to break the eight,” he said.
Reacting to issues surrounding the elections on Atinka FM’s AM Drive with host Kaakyire Ofori Ayim, Chairman Kwadwo Boateng debunked the allegations that some bigwigs at the Presidency and in the party were behind his candidature.
He called on his supporters to be calm and support the NPP in its quest to break the 8.
