Ed Cal drops maiden single to celebrate birthday

British-Ghanaian gospel singer, song writer and creative director, Ed Cal will be announcing his presence on Ghana’s music scene with his maiden single titled ‘Akyedie’ on Wednesday March 29 which also marks his birthday.

Engineered by Hyper, mixed and mastered by Wei Ye Oteng, the song is expected to make waves on all the digital music platforms after it’s released.

Akyedie is a song to thank God for his goodness and mercies, also thanking Him for sending His son to redeem us and strengthen us to do His will.

Ed Cal, who has developed a strong passion for spreading the gospel of Christ through music, happens to be one of the few upcoming gospel artistes who are working very hard to take Ghanaian gospel music to another level.

Ed Cal who is also a business owner and a creative Director of Artz N Beyond is a young dynamic gospel singer with a lot of passion. He is craving to reach out to a lot of people via his music.

He draws his inspiration from his personal experiences and others, especially the oppressed. For him, music is a calling and as long as the good Lord remains his witness, he will forever remain faithful to his calling.

“I have always wanted to be gospel singer but things happened to me in this journey and stopped me which made me think that perhaps it wasn’t my time. I recorded my first single some years back but didn’t get the push that I needed and almost gave up. But I believe this is what God wants me to do. Last year I decided to get on with my calling hence my maiden single”.
According to him, “I recorded Achedie as my first single because this is a song that means a lot to me and not just me but everyone”.

The gospel icon is hopeful that the song would touch the hearts of many Ghanaians, including Christians and help them to have breakthroughs in their lives.

He indicated that people should not limit themselves to only their professions, but also try to identify their God-given talents and tap them so they could become what he called ‘all round persons’ and to become more useful to mankind.
He said in an interview that he is ready to transform the gospel music industry in Ghana with his style of music fused with traditional rhythms and beats.

He added that he is working tirelessly behind the scenes to make sure his presence is felt in the gospel music industry in Ghana.
