Executives of the El-Wak Keep Fit Club have revealed their readiness for the 21st edition of their Republic Day health walk.
On Saturday, chairman of the over four decades old fitness club, Emmanuel Tetteh sat with Justice Adusi Poku on Accra based Atinka Fm to talk about preparations they have made towards this year’s event.
According to him, they have invited over fifty keep fit clubs from Ghana and other countries to join hands to ensure the success of the programme.
Mr. Emmanuel Tetteh also disclosed that, the club through this year’s activity will offer education on various cancer related issues. He said cancer has become one of the major illness taking lives in the country and that, they are starting a serious campaign to create awareness on that.
“We are walking to raise funds for cancer education in Ghana,” he said.

He, therefore, called on all corporate organizations, health institutions, non-governmental organizations and individuals to come on board to support the cause.
El-Wak keep fit club put together by some military officers many years ago with the intention that their friends and families who could not join them to train at the Regiment level could also get fit through that. This has eventually become huge and extremely exciting as as membership has gone beyond friends and families.
