Joyce Bawah Mogtari, the former president John Dramani Mahama’s Spokesperson, has denied rumors that the National Democratic Congress flagbearer visited Russia in order to request support from the Russian government for the December polls.
The denial follows reports by certain media sources that Mr. Mahama attempted to secure the backing of the Russian government for the December 7 elections by using the launch of a Russian translation of his memoirs titled “My First Coup D’etat” as coverup.
In a statement released on Friday, July 12, 2024, Bawah Mogtari referred to the articles as “shadowy and unethical journalism practice” intended to discredit the flagbearer.
