Renowned Ghanaian gospel musician, Alexander Bruce Ghartey well known as Uncle Ato, has called for caution in the way prophecies are delivered, particularly during sensitive periods like elections.
Speaking in an interview with Selikem Acolatse-Apaloo on Bullet TV, Uncle Ato emphasized that prophecies should uplift and guide rather than create confusion or chaos.
“Prophecies are supposed to edify,” he said. “How they are presented matters, and they shouldn’t bring chaos into the system. If God has blessed someone with the gift of prophecy, it must be delivered with the intention of preserving peace, not stealing it.”
Uncle Ato stressed that national progress hinges on collective effort and unity, regardless of who occupies the presidency. “It’s not just about who wins the seat. The president alone cannot do the work, nor can the ministers. Development requires all of us working together in peace,” he noted.
He added that while there is room for divine revelations, the focus should be on fostering harmony. “Even Angel Gabriel cannot do the work alone. Prophecies about who wins shouldn’t be a source of division but should encourage us all to play our part in nation-building.”
Citing examples from Ghana’s political history, Uncle Ato recalled a prophecy he witnessed during the 2016 elections, where a vision accurately predicted the outcome. “I visited a church, and the prophet shared a vision of the former president holding onto his seat, refusing to let go, and it turned out to be true. This shows that God still speaks, but how the message is presented is key.”
He cautioned against biased or self-serving prophecies, noting that such actions damage public trust and create unnecessary tension. “When people perceive bias in prophecies, it spoils the entire message. Those gifted with foreknowledge should focus on God’s intention and avoid introducing chaos.”
Uncle Ato concluded with a plea for calm and unity as the nation approaches another election season. He urged religious leaders and citizens alike to prioritize peace and national cohesion.
“Let’s trust and pray for those with prophetic gifts to use them wisely. Ghana’s peace and development depend on all of us playing our part, united under God.”
