The Elmina District Police Command has arrested parents who allegedly buried their special child alive at Cape Coast.
According to the Police, on 26/3/2022, about 11:45 pm, the Elmina District Police Command received information that a male child of about two years old, suspected to be a child of special needs had been buried alive at the shores of Dutch-Komenda.
On receipt of the report, it proceeded to the crime scene and with the help of Hon. Cosmos Bassaw, the Assembly Member of Dutch -Komenda Electoral Area, and the youth rescued the boy.

Preliminary investigation revealed that due to the impairment of the boy, the parents from Komenda and Abrobeano consulted a spiritualist at Dutch-Komenda to get rid of the child.
Meanwhile, the mother of the child, age 29 years, the father, age 37 years, and the grandfather, aged 70 years, who were suspected to have conspired to commit the crime are in police custody assisting in the investigation.
The victim was also sent to Kissi Health Centre and was treated and discharged.
However, the Police also said frantic efforts are underway to arrest a ritualist, Kweku Bar who was involved in the matter but is on the run.
In other news: Man nearly lynched for stealing 20 goats

A 32-year-old Man was beaten mercilessly for stealing over twenty goats at Anokyi, a suburb of Mankessim in the Mfantseman Municipality of the Central Region.
Information gathered by Atinka News‘ Agyei Kwaku Mensah revealed that the man was seen stealing the goats last Thursday night.
Report also said the residents in the area in their sleep heard numerous goats crying uncontrollably hence went to the scene and only for them to see over 20 goats had been caged in a private car which had registration number of GW-1961-13.
The residents then called in their neighbors in the community and they all rushed to the scene and started beating the suspect.
