World Vision Ghana has honoured Laura Cristina Del Valle as she bid farewell to her role as National Director.
Laura, the first female to hold this position, served from June 2023 to November 2024, leaving an indelible mark on the organisation and the communities it serves.
With about three decades of experience, spanning roles within and outside World Vision, Laura exemplified passion, compassion, and relentless commitment to humanitarian work.
Her legacy is one of the transformative impact, unwavering service, and the empowerment of communities, especially children and women.
Recognition and Awards
During her time at World Vision Ghana, Laura championed numerous initiatives that significantly strengthened the organization’s visibility, partnerships, and credibility. Under her visionary leadership, the organisation forged key partnerships, including a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with EIB Network, collaboration with Goldfields Foundation, and a strategic alliance with Vivo Energy.
World Vision Ghana also played a prominent role as a sponsor of the 13th All-African Games in Accra, demonstrating Laura’s commitment to broadening the organisation’s reach and influence.
Her leadership style emphasized staff well-being and fostering a supportive work environment, ensuring that her team thrived.
Her efforts were recognized with multiple accolades, including the CIMG Non-for-Profit Organization of the Year 2023, CSR SDGs Partnership of the Year, and CSR NGO of the Year awards.

Leadership Beyond Borders
Laura’s journey with World Vision has taken her through diverse roles, including Operations Director at World Vision El Salvador, Program Quality Specialist at the World Vision Latin America and the Caribbean Regional Office, and Research and Development Associate at the Global Centre, World Vision International.
Her expertise extends beyond World Vision, with experience at the European Union and Plan International. Laura holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from El Salvador University, a Master’s Degree in art from Eastern University, and a doctoral degree in leadership from Gull University. She also specializes in NGO management and is a certified ontological business coach.
