Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has called on Parliament to approve the 2025 budget estimates, emphasizing key revenue and expenditure initiatives designed to drive economic growth and ensure fiscal stability.
Speaking at the opening of the 2025 Post-Budget Workshop in Parliament, Dr. Ato Forson outlined the government’s strategic policies, urging lawmakers to support the necessary legislations that will operationalize these initiatives.
“We have outlined a number of revenue and expenditure measures in the 2025 budget to support our fiscal objectives and targets. I urge this esteemed House, particularly my colleagues in Parliament, to support these measures and pass the necessary legislations without delay,”- he stated.
A major highlight of the budget is the implementation of the 24-hour economy policy, aimed at boosting productivity and job creation across key sectors such as manufacturing, services, and agriculture.
Dr. Forson also announced the establishment of the Ghana Gold Board, a move intended to enhance foreign exchange inflows and strengthen the country’s gold reserves.

He stressed the need for swift legislative approval to ensure the smooth execution of these policies, reaffirming the government’s commitment to economic transformation and inclusive growth.
