Five persons have died in an accident at Akrumusu on the Begoro-Osiem Road in the Fanteakwa North District of the Eastern Region.
The Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Police Service in the Eastern Region, DSP Ebenezer Tetteh, confirmed the accident to the media.
He indicated that a 28-seater Benz bus with registration number GR 4074-E loaded with charcoal and maize fell into a ditch while negotiating a sharp curve near Akrumusu village.
Five persons were stuck in the vehicle but the driver and one other person were rescued.
The five were rushed to the Begoro Government Hospital but were pronounced dead on arrival.
The bodies of the victims have been deposited at the hospital for autopsy and preservation.
