A 13-year-old girl is battling for her life after she was gangraped by four Fulani herdsmen at Gomoa Adzintem in the Central Region.
The girl also suffered cutlass wounds after she initially resisted the rape.
The Father of the girl also suffered cutlass wounds and he is currently on admission at the Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital.
The incident has sparked rage among some youth of the town who have threatened to fight back if any Fulani herdsmen visit the area with their cattle to graze.
Father of the 13-year-old girl, Mr Kwabena Quaye who narrated his ordeal to Atinka News said although he tried to protect his daughter, the herdsmen had their way.
“I saw that one of the Fulani Herdsmen was holding a gun outside and I shut my door and my daughter went to lock it. I later heard one asking me to open the door and I asked them what I had done to them or what they wanted from and they said I should bring money,” he said.
He continued that, “They hit the door but it did not open. So they fired the gun and it hit the door and hit my daughters hand, so I told her to hide behind the Television so that I deal with them. When I opened the door, we struggled and one of them hit my head with a stick and I heard a warning shot from another person and they ordered me to lie down and they brought my daughter out.”
The traumatised father added that, “I was bleeding, weak and could not see clearly and they brought my daughter out. I quickly rushed to call my neighbours and they sent me to the hospital. I passed out and so I did not see where they sent my daughter.”
He said,”After about 30 minutes, my daughter was also brought to the hospital, the bullet hit her hand and part of her stomach but they removed it. The four of them slept with her,” he said.
The Chief of Gomoa Adzintem, Nana Obrempong Essel Andoh has challenged the Chiefs in the Gomoa area to wage war against Fulani herdsmen who they say are causing more harm to innocent farmers.
In response, the irate residents chanted that they will kill the Fulani Herdsmen when they step in the area.
