“Our target is that within the next three to six months, Ga Central will be among the best municipalities in Ghana when it comes to sanitation,” – Hon. Allotey declared confidently.

He explained that the Assembly has been implementing a series of targeted clean-up activities, focusing on dredging drains, sweeping public spaces, and collecting refuse regularly.

“We are monitoring every corner — from the markets to residential areas — to make sure no rubbish is left unattended. Cleanliness is now becoming part of our routine,” he added.

Hon. Allotey noted that, beyond the national sanitation campaign, the Assembly has introduced weekly clean-up exercises involving assembly members, unit committee representatives, shop owners, and residents.

“We have a sanitation task force that works every week in all 13 electoral areas. We do not wait for the national day; we take action weekly,” he said.

He further assured residents that the Assembly would continue to provide the necessary logistics and supervision to sustain the gains made so far.
