Ga Manye’s funeral: Tobinco Group commiserates with Ga State; donates cash, drinks

The Chairman of the Tobinco Group of Companies, Elder Nana Amo Tobin has asked for continuous unity in the Ga State as the funeral of the paramount queen Naa Dede Omaedru III is being observed.

The Group chairman was speaking to journalists after he and his subsidiary heads commiserated with the chiefs and queen mothers of the Ga State in Accra on Friday.

The Tobinco Group donated cartons of assorted soft drinks, water and some cash.

The chairman of the Tobinco Group was full of appreciation for the ga state which has provided the space and the environment for his numerous businesses.

According to him, although he has many branches all over the country, the beginning of the Tobinco Group was in Accra for which reason he is ‘thankful for the Ga people’

Mr. Amo Tobbin, however, asked the Ga Traditional Council to continue to ensure that there is peace within their ranks as it will help ‘project the image of Accra as the capital city of the country’.

Meanwhile, the Funeral Planning Committee of the Ga Traditional Council has lined up several activities for the final funeral service of the late Queen Naa Dedei Omaedru III.

The funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, October 28.

The Council indicated that there would be both Christian and Traditional burial rites for the late Ga Manye. A vigil will take place today, Friday, October 27.

Activities lined up include a procession of Ga chiefs and their flags, burial rituals and musketry, and a procession of flags to the casket by Asafoianyemei.

There will be a thanksgiving service at the Holy Trinity Cathedral on Sunday.

The funeral service will be attended by  President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, ministers of state, and several foreign dignitaries.
