A visa waiver program for bearers of ordinary, diplomatic, and service passports has been agreed upon by Ghana and Malawi.
The agreement intends to strengthen continuing cooperation and bilateral connections between the two countries. It went into force on February 7, 2024.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration clarified in a circular dated March 21, 2024, that visitors are allowed to enter, exit, and stay in both countries’ territories for a maximum of ninety (90) days in a calendar year, as long as they do not work.

Through more travel and people-to-people interaction, the pact seeks to strengthen bilateral ties and cooperation between the two nations.

By doing away with the requirement for visa applications and costs, it will greatly improve the convenience of travel between Ghana and Malawi.
