The President of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA), Albert Kwabena Dwumfour, has commended Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City Accra for its unwavering support of press freedom and the media over the past decade.
Speaking at the media launch of the hotel’s 10th anniversary celebrations, Mr. Dwumfour acknowledged Kempinski’s strong partnership with the association, noting that the hotel had hosted the annual GJA Awards five consecutive times and played a key role in Ghana’s media landscape.
“Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City Accra has been more than a luxury destination—it has been a reliable partner of the Ghanaian media. The hotel hosted our 70th-anniversary celebration, where we conferred the Champion of Champions award on former President John Kufuor for his contribution to press freedom, particularly the repeal of the Criminal Libel Law,” – he stated.

He emphasized that Kempinski’s commitment to excellence extends beyond hospitality, as it has created a platform for journalists to celebrate their craft while engaging global stakeholders in tourism and national development.
“As journalists, we are storytellers. We document history, highlight achievements, and amplify the voices that need to be heard. Kempinski has provided us with a space to do this effectively, and for that, we are grateful,” he added.
