The Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, has said that the Government of Ghana is in a process of implementing a programme that is will help boost the capacity of media personnel in the country.
The Minister in a statement to mark the Press Freedom Day said the programme dubbed ‘Media Capacity Enhancement Programme (MCEP)’ will also help media practitioners to deliver on their mandate.
“The protection of media practitioners, is also to witness a boost with the introduction of a coordinating mechanism on the safety of journalists before July.
“The Government of Ghana reiterates its commitment to supporting measures that deepen the frontiers of free expression in the advancement of our democracy,” part of the statement read.
