The NPP Parliamentary Candidate for the Kpone Katamanso Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, Hopeson Yaovi Adorye, has presented some 250 pieces of sewing machines, hair dryers and barbering machines to some youth in the constituency, who have gone through training but needed a start-up support.
At a short ceremony in Kpone, which was witnessed by family and friends of selected beneficiaries from the various communities in the District, some 250 apprentices who had undergone a one year training in dress making, hair styling, facial makeup, barbering, as well as some established entrepreneurs in these fields, were given sewing machines, hair dryers, barbering machines as well as some start-up capital by the NPP parliamentary candidate for the area.
Presenting the items to beneficiaries, Hopeson Adorye charged them to make good use of the items given them, since it was part of the NPP government’s vision to encourage the youth in TIVET education.
According to him, the presentation was also in fulfillment of a promise he made to the youth some months ago, and he’s poised to organise such programmes on yearly basis if elected into parliament..
Some excited beneficiaries commended the NPP PC for such a kind gesture, noting this was the first of its kind in the constituency, pledging their support to ensure he becomes the next Member of Parliament for the area.
