Gospel Musician, songwriter and Author, Moses Osei Kwarteng better known as Moses OK says he has never done a song with the intention of going for awards.
According to him, his focus is to promote the word of God and rather ensures that his music focuses on scripture entirely.
He said that is why he has never fought for an award even when he merited it.
Moses OK made the comments on Atinka 104.7 FM’s Atinka Drive with Roman Fada.

“It has never occurred in my head, not once that I am going to do a song for an award. It has never occured to me before, not even once,” he said.
He added,”For Gospel music, one, it has to be spiritually oriented so that God will be behind it and two, a gospel song has to be spiritually based, it has to be based on the word of God, not that something is trending and you join the bandwagon.”
Moses OK continued,”For genres, it can change, I have done Highlife, done Reggae but it has to have that element inside that is spiritual.”
He was of the belief that when writing gospel songs, musicians should not make themselves the centre of attraction but rather, connect the listeners to God.
“The focus should not be that it draws attention to yourself, rather, the focus should be that people listen to the song and be able to connect with their God.
Moses OK also said he was going through hardships when he released his hit song, ‘Nti Me Mepaa Meni’.
He explained that despite going through life challenges, he had faith in God that the future will be better, and therefore released the song to inspire himself and others who were equally going through challenges.
Meanwhile, He said his new song, ‘Asesa’ was doing so well that he had calls of people giving testimonies.
He said ‘Asesa‘ can be streamed on all digital platforms.
