I won't take salary when I become prez-Independent candidate promises

Independent Presidential Candidate, Mr Kwame Asiedu Walker is promising to implement policies that will transform the fortunes of the country in the face of the abysmal performance by the NPP and NDC over the last last 40 years.

Kwame Asiedu Walker who has vowed not to take salary while in office, said this during a campaign tour of the Ashaiman constituency in the Greater Accra region.


The Independent presidential candidate who began his campaign tour at the Ashaiman market, was given a rousing welcome by traders and residents in the area.


Addressing the teeming crowd, he said, he will forfeit his salary if voted into power, stressing further that, he would rather donate his presidential salary to the poor, disabled, orphanages and aged.


” There’s no reason why a president should take monthly salary when they are capable of living well without it”, he added.

As the only independent candidate contesting in this year’s presidential elections, Mr. Walker also promised to create more job opportunities especially for the youth.

He further stated that he would build a motivated police force by providing them with a life insurance policy and decent accommodation.

Speaking to the media after familiarization tour of the Ashaiman constituency, Mr. Walker said he opposes the legalization of okada in the country.

According to him, he believes a number of accidents are caused by okada with its accompanying side effects on victims and dependents.

He said the solution to okada is to create more jobs for the teeming youth.

He stated that his administration will put major emphasis on women empowerment.

Kwame Aseidu Walker is the only independent candidate in this year’s presidential elections. He is number 12 on the ballot paper.
