Management of the Ghana Communication Technology University (GCTU) has announced that the institution has been served with a Motion on Notice for an interlocutory injunction filed at the High Court of Ghana by Emmanuel Ohene Afoakwa.
In a statement issued by the University, management disclosed that the application has been scheduled for hearing on March 24, 2026.
The University explained that the matter currently before the court is only an application for an interlocutory injunction and not a ruling.
Under Ghanaian law, such an injunction only becomes effective when it is formally granted by the court.
GCTU emphasized that as of the date of the statement, the High Court has not issued any order of injunction against the University.
Management therefore urged the public to disregard misinformation circulating on social media suggesting that the court has already placed an injunction on the University.
According to the statement, all actions and directives of the University remain fully in force.
The University further assured the public that it will continue to respect and follow the due legal process, adding that updates will be provided should there be any significant developments in the case.
