The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has held a crucial meeting with former Inspectors-General of Police to seek their guidance and expertise in enhancing the administrative and operational effectiveness of the Ghana Police Service.
The meeting, which took place on April 2, 2025, at the National Police Headquarters in Accra, aimed at fostering stronger collaboration between the current leadership and past police chiefs to improve policing in the country.

Among the former IGPs in attendance were Mr. C.K. Dewornu, Mr. Ernest Owusu Poku, Nana Owusu-Nsiah, Mr. Patrick Acheampong, Mrs. Elizabeth Mills-Robertson, Dr. John Kudalor, Mr. David Asante-Apeatu, and Mr. James Oppong Boanuh.

Discussions focused on personnel welfare, crime-fighting strategies, stakeholder engagements, ongoing reforms, and overall security in Ghana, The meeting also explored ways to strengthen the police force’s ability to maintain law and order in an evolving security landscape.
At the end of the discussions, the IGP and the former police chiefs pledged to hold regular engagements to ensure the continued growth and development of the Ghana Police Service.
