The Vice-Chancellor of Pentecost University, Apostle Professor Kwabena Agyapong-Kodua, has urged Christians to turn the world around positively, by using their unique Christ-like lifestyle.
He explained that a person’s lifestyle is how the individual conducts himself or lives his life. He revealed that every Christian has some unique beautiful lifestyle he learnt from Christ, that if well lived, will positively transform societies and the world at large.
While speaking on the first day of a two-day commencement retreat programme for ministerial students of the School of Theology Mission and Leadership, a School under the Pentecost University, Apostle Professor Kwabena Agyapong-Kodua explained the need for Ministers to influence the world, and how to do it. He said the prime objective of anyone called by God is to cause an influence that will impact positively on society.
In his presentation, the Vice-Chancellor revealed that Christians have what it takes to change the world. Delving more into how Christians can cause this influence, Aps Prof. Agyapong-Kodua enumerated that, first, Christians must live the examples of Christ, noting that a Christlike life is a life that causes a positive change in any society.

Again, VC advised that Ministers must be very serious whenever the pulpit is given to them to preach the word of God since that pulpit is used to cause influence through sound teachings. Therefore, he advised that irrespective of how small the time to use the pulpit is, that time must be used judiciously to cause influence; the message must be compelling enough to influence people.
The Pentecost University VC said Ministers must live the gospel they preach. He said words are powerful so those who write should take their time to write well because one day they will not be there to explain what they have written. However, he said, there are some kinds of writings that are not in words; they are based on what people observe about you. He admonished that we must use this medium of influence so well to achieve the target of influencing people in all spheres of life.
Apostle Agyapong-Kodua did not leave prayer and the role of the Holy Spirit as important media to influence humanity. He said, “We must pray the mind of God over the community, town, city or nation and ask for the Holy Spirit to impact lives”.
Going deeper in this, the VC said there are times that specific transformation would have to happen, but those things could happen when the Holy Spirit is consulted through prayer for Him to take charge. He advised that Christians spend time in prayer and get saturated in the Holy Spirit in order for them to lead and cause great change in the lives of the people. “Great influence is only achieved by an individual, who has privately been influenced by the Holy Spirit Himself,” he noted.
Finally, Apostle Professor Agyapong-Kodua charged the Ministers to influence their societies through the demonstration of the power of God. Quoting 1 Cor. 2:4, the learned minister of God in different fields was quick to explain that Paul’s message, when taken in isolation, may look as if he was downplaying the power of wisdom, but that was not the intention but he was trying to express how he allowed himself to be used by the Holy Spirit mightily. Bringing the first part of his sermon to an end, Aps Prof. Agyapong-Kodua revealed that God’s power through signs and wonders glorifies His name, silences all arguments, increases faith, resolves issues, and does many things, so Christians must earnestly seek for this power. At this juncture, very intensive prayer was said. Commencement retreat is a power-packed fasting and prayer programme that ushers the ministerial students of the School of Theology Mission and Leadership into a new semester of an academic year.
