Invest more in your skills-Levelx Training manager urges vocational students

Faustina Gbemu, Manager, Levelx Training Academy

The Manager of Levelx Training Academy at Awoshie, Faustina Gbemu, has called on vocational students to invest more in the skills they have acquired to establish their own businesses.

The move, according to her, would tackle the unemployment situation in the country.

Speaking at the school’s 2nd graduation ceremony at Sika Hall, Atinka Media Village in Accra, she further tasked the forty-two graduands (42), who have excelled in various vocational disciplines, not to give up in difficult times but rather focus on the ultimate as they prepare for the job market.

Levelx Training Academy is a fashion school that was started a few years ago to help young people get the skills they need to follow their dreams and also become business owners who hire other people to help lower unemployment in the country.

The school graduated the second batch of 2023 students with a certificate in fashion, massage, pedicure, facial treatment, hair braiding, cosmetology, and many more.

The ceremony attracted dignitaries, Traditional leaders, celebrities,  and parents.

Madam  Faustina Gbemu urged the graduands to go out there and make a difference in their profession to become entrepreneurs and also urged government to make entrepreneurship opportunities accessible to every young person, no matter their abilities.

According to her, youth unemployment is one of today’s biggest global challenges, and she added that the World Bank estimates that “we need 600 million new jobs in the next 10 years just to keep global employment rates constant.”

Some graduands urged the government to support them in opening their businesses and also strengthen youth entrepreneurship.

The manager of Levelx Training Academy, Faustina Gbemu, later stated that a third of Ghana’s population is young—over 10 million people—with each of them relying on equal and expanded opportunities for education, training, employment, and entrepreneurship to succeed. Youth entrepreneurship is growing in Ghana, especially in the informal sector. This is because the formal sector isn’t making as many jobs as it used to.

The people in charge of Levelx Training Academy say they are working hard to become the best fashion school in Africa and elsewhere that teaches technical skills based on competence.
