Ghana’s first certified Emotional Intelligence coach, James Addison, has called on Ghanaians to support the development of the boychild.
He opined that Society had created the perception that boys do not need support because they are men and that they are not supposed to cry, lament or lack anything.
According to him, these stipulations upon the boy child have bred emotionally unstable men.
James Addison made the remarks at the launch of the “He Empowering Lot More Shes” (HELMS) Initiative in Accra on Friday 6th August 2021.
The He Empowering Lot More Shes (HELMS) project is an initiative of RoyalAid Foundation, a Socio-Health based NGO with a focus on health, Education, Entrepreneurial Skills Development, Boychild Empowerment and Poverty Eradication.
The HELMS Initiative seeks to empower men and guide them to stand in solidarity with women to create a bold, visible and united force for gender equality. The project will bring boys together to support each other with their challenges, learn how to navigate their challenges in healthy ways, and empower women. James Addison is one of the distinguished mentors on the HELMS Initiative.

According to Dr S. K Frimpong, the founder of RoyalAid Foundation, to successfully empower women and girls in the country, there was the need to empower the boychild and groom them to understand the needs of women and girls.
He said RoyalAid Foundation believes that when the boy child is trained with a proper understanding of the needs of the girl-child, he will grow up to support the course of women empowerment.

Lariba Zuweira Abudu, Deputy Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection, the Guest Speaker for the occasion, applauded Dr S.K Frimpong for leading such a worthy campaign. She, therefore, called on all and sundry to join forces to galvanize as many men and boys as possible to be advocates for gender equality.
