Kpando Dzewoe’s Awafia urges alumni to support basic schools

Togbui Dzablu IV, the Awafia of Kpando Dzewoe, has called on graduates of basic schools to pay attention to their alma maters, emphasizing the importance of supporting the foundation of their educational journey.

Togbui Dzablu IV, speaking after the alumni of Adidome RC Primary and JHS, his former school, organized a massive facelift project on July 27, 2024, noted that people often forget their humble beginnings and focus on their current status. He stressed that the basic level is where individuals learn to read, write, and speak, and it is crucial to maintain strong fundamentals.

The Awafia expressed concern that governments and alumni often neglect basic schools, while senior high schools and universities receive more attention and support.
He pointed out that many basic schools still lack conducive learning environments, with some students studying under trees. Togbui Dzablu IV appealed to non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to support basic schools, citing the need for new dual desks at Adidome RC Primary and JHS, where pupils are using over 30-year-old furniture.

He commended the alumni group for their efforts and encouraged others to follow their example, emphasizing the importance of giving back to the community that nurtured them.
