Nii Tei Kojo Amankwa Sune I, Gbetsile Mantse and Spokesperson for the Kpone Traditional Council, has denied media reports that the Kpone Chief Nii Tetteh Otu II disrespected the President of the Republic of Ghana Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
The rebuttal comes after reports suggested that Kpone Chief Nii Tetteh Otu II got furious after he saw the artist’s impression of the project, which the President, Nana Akufo-Addo came to commission.
The chief is said to have complained bitterly about how politicians have over the years deceived them over such projects.
According to reports, the Chief was upset because he thought the project was a one-storey building.
In a video which has gone viral, the angry chief is seen walking out of the durbar grounds after he had poured his heart out to persons present at the grounds.
Not even the plea by his council of elders could get him back to the durbar grounds.
Reacting to the claims on Atinka FM’s AM Drive with host Ekourba Gyasi, Nii Tei Kojo Amankwa Sune I, Gbetsile Mantse and Spokesperson for the Kpone Traditional Council asked the general public to disregard the initial reports that the Kpone Chief disrespected the President of Ghana during his visit.
He noted that the misinformation in the initial reports on social media has put the name of the traditional council into disrepute.
According to him, this is a ploy to break up the beautiful relationship the people of Kpone have with President Akufo-Addo.
“In fact , I was there and we were very happy about the hospital project and therefore find it shocking for anyone to say the traditional authorities here are displeased with it. We find it so embarrassing that people will spread this kind of negative stories”, he added.
