According to the team, the Promotion of Proper Human Sexual Rights and Ghanaian Family Values Bill 2021, which is being championed by some legislators, is an “impermissible invasion of the inviolability of human dignity.”

The private members’ bill, which is in the works, is proposing a 10-year jail term for offenders, including promoters of any sexuality that falls within the LGBTQI+ spectrum other than between a man and a woman.

The bill, which is yet to be considered by parliament, seeks to unequivocally criminalise LGBTQI+ activities.

Commenting on the statement by the group in an interview with host Of Atinka FM’s AM Drive, Kaakyire Ofori Ayim, Member of Parliament for Krachi West, Helen Adjoa Ntoso said most of the proffessors supporting the group will not allow their wards to engage in the act.

According to them, these professors have children who are married with kids.

“ What I don’t understand is that children of these professors, who are basing their argument on human rights, are married. So why didn’t they allow their kids to practice? We have asked the court to prevent these LGBTQI from adopting too. Who should give birth for you to come and adopt,” Helen Adjoa Ntoso told Kaakyire Ofori Ayim.
