Mad rush for 2020 vehicle number plate as online registration slows process

There has been a mad rush for the new 2020 vehicle number plates across the country.
At the Tema Regional Office of the DVLA, the compound and offices of the Authority was occupied by fleet of vehicles and that of prospective customers who were hoping to register their vehicles.
Despite the long queues in and around the DVLA office, some lucky customers had their 2020 number plates with others waiting in disappointment.
The slow process of the online registration process, has seen some private licensing agents cashing in on the situation.
Some prospective customers who have been waiting for days to have their 2020 registration number plates, were not happy with the pace of the online registration and asked authorities to reintroduce the manual process.
Meanwhile the authorities said they managed to register close to a thousand vehicles within the first few days of 2020, a figure it says shows a rise to that of 2019.
