Mahama unveils 120-Day Social Contract with a stringent code of conduct

In order to control the actions of government appointees and strengthen accountability and transparency, President John Mahama is begins a stringent Code of Conduct.

Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Minister in Charge of Government Communications, made the announcement, which is a major turning point in Mahama’s 120-day Social Contract.

President Mahama’s ambitious plan for governance, the 120-day Social Contract, aims to bring about reforms in a number of areas. It is anticipated that the Code of Conduct, which is unveiled on Monday, May 5, 2025, will provide officials with explicit ethical standards, addressing issues of public trust and governance integrity.

Kwakye Ofosu claims that the new framework calls for strict measures to prevent corruption, guarantee due process, and increase the effectiveness of service delivery.

President Mahama has made economic recovery, job creation, and social interventions—such as tax breaks and a 24-hour economy policy meant to increase productivity—his top priorities since introducing his Social Contract.

Additionally, his administration has supported free postsecondary education for people with disabilities.

As the country awaits the introduction of a more orderly and transparent administration, the unveiling event is anticipated to attract stakeholders from a variety of sectors, including government officials, legal professionals, and civil society organizations.
