“Major Mahama’s death still fresh in our minds” – Father

The father of the late Major Maxwell Adam Mahama, Captain Dennis Mahama (Rtd) says the death of their ward is still fresh in the minds of the family even after a year.

Captain Dennis Mahama (Rtd) stated that although the family celebrated the one year anniversary of their departed kinsman yesterday 29th May 2018, memories of him still lives with them.

He expressed his gratitude to the entire nation for the soothing and encouraging words during their trying times especially to the Government of Ghana and Asante Hene, Otumfour Osei Tutu II.

Captain Dennis Mahama (Rtd) made these comments in an interview with Ekourba Gyasi on Atinka AM Drive Wednesday.

“Our prayer is that God will continue to see us through because it has been over a year but the pain is still fresh in our minds. And to the whole Ghana we will always say thank you for your support, had it not been for the support of the whole country, I am sure it would have been a different story altogether. I have still not had the courage to watch the video, I don’t think I will ever will”, he said.

Asked if the family has forgiven the people of Denkyira Obuasi after a year of Major Mahama’s death, Captain Dennis Mahama (Rtd) said forgiveness lies in the hands of God.

Capt. M.A Mahama of the 5th Infantry Battalion was reportedly lynched in May 2017 while he was on his routine early morning jogging.

He was allegedly stoned and burnt by the youth of the area who mistook him for an armed robber.
