Market Centres in Ahafo Region disinfected against Covid-19

Phase II of Nationwide Disinfection exercise has commenced at market centers, lorry parks and other open public space in the Ahafo Region.
This forms part of measured laid down by Government, through the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development to reduce the fast spread of Covid-19 that has brought economic activities in the Region to a virtual halt.
In the Region, 66 markets in the six districts and municipalities were disinfected.
They include the Goaso market, Kenyasi, Hwidiem, Bechem and the Duayaw-Nkwanta markets.

Addressing the media before the commencement of the exercise, Hon Yaw Osei-Boahen, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Asunafo North Municipal Assembly advised people in the region to take a cue from the government’s gesture and inculcate basic hygienic practices in their daily lives.
When asked the time business can begin in the various centers, Mr.Osei-Boahen said, they pleaded with the market women not to come to market so normal market business will resume tomorrow, July 24th, 2020.
He continued by urging the public to continuously observe and follow the safety protocols such as hand washing under running water, sanitizing of hands frequently to keep them safe.
