Ministerial Vetting: Support National Cathedral Project- Egyapa Mercer to Parliament

Minister- Designate for Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Hon. Andrew Egyapa Mercer, has made a passionate appeal to Parliament to support the National Cathedral project.

He made the appeal in response to a question from MP for Bole Bamboi on what he would do to make sure the National Cathedral does not become an albatross on the nation when he appeared before the Appointments Committee of Parliament chaired by 1st Deputy Speaker, Joseph Osei Owusu.

According to him, the nation has invested so much already hence the need to make sure those investments don’t go to waste.

He also said he would focus more on training and capacity building of Human Resources in the tourism sector to promote tourism.

Among those set to appear are Lydia Seyram Alhassan, Minister-designate for the Ministry of Sanitation and Water Resources; Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah, Minister-designate for the Ministry of Local Government, Decentralization, and Rural Development; Ophelia Mensah Hayford, Minister-designate for the Ministry of Environment, Science, Technology, and Innovation; and Darkoa Newman, Minister-designate for the Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection.
