The Former Member of Parliament (MP) for Mfantseman constituency, NDC, and Former Central Regional Minister, Mr Acqinas Tawiah Quansah has opined that suspect in missing excavators, Horace Ekow Ewusi did not ‘sell’ the missing excavators on his own, but rather under the directives of the ‘big boys’.
Ekow Ewusi, who was contracted by the government to cart excavators and other vehicles and pieces of equipment seized by Operation Vanguard to designated areas for safekeeping has been in the news off-late for allegedly selling the excavators.
Meanwhile, a leaked audio indicated that he was did not do the selling alone, bringing ‘big’ names like John Boadu, Prof. Frimpong Boateng to question.
Sharing his opinion on the issue on Atinka TV’s Morning Agenda, a segment on Ghana Nie, Mr Acqinas Tawiah Quansah said that,” I do not blame Ekow Ewusi. He is a little fly, this is somebody who was voted as the Vice Chairman of the Central Region and he has been suspended indefinitely.”
Acqinas Tawiah said,”Ekow Ewusi is an auctioneer by profession, he was part of galamstop, so if we want to auction excavators and we have an auctioneer amongst us, why don’t we use him. So it was like using him for their game, because at the end of the day, I don’t think he can take the excavators by his own will to go and sell. Because the game is bigger than him.”
He also opined that with all the big names involved, including John Boadu, Ekow Ewusi does not have the ‘balls’ to go and take the excavators and sell without the knowledge of the ‘big boys’.
“They wanted to use him to do the game, but he is not a stupid boy, he is not a daft boy, he is a smart boy that’s why he looked for a back-up plan, in case tomorrow he is blamed he shows what exactly happened,” Acqinas Tawiah added.
