Legendary Ghanaian Gospel Musician, Moses Osei Kwarteng, popularly known as Moses OK says promoting music now in Ghana has become very difficult.

According to him, due to social media and the numerous TV stations, the process of promoting music has also become long.

Mr Moses Ok made the assertion on Atinka TV’s morning show, Ghana Nie, with Abena Dufie.

In the past, he noted that there were few TV stations with no social media and so people had no option than to watch the few stations.

At that time, he said when an artist sent a song to a TV station, people could easily grab it because they watched it on those TV stations.

“The process of promoting music has become long because now, you have to go on all the social media platforms and there are a lot of TV stations. In our time, there were only three TV stations and when you release a song, everybody will see it when you put it out there but today, the TV stations are uncountable,” he said.

Moses Ok noted that most of the legendary musicians are alive, saying that coming out with music now has also become capital intensive.

He said, “So, when you release a new song, and because the song has to stick with the people, if you do not have money to do promotion to reach far, you will be discouraged. As a result, many musicians want to take the old songs and do renditions and when they do it and bring it out, at least they have also done some. I believe there are people doing their possible best but as I said, promotion has become very difficult.”

Moses Ok said his songs are mostly inspired by the word of God, adding that he believes the word of God in his music has had positive impacts on people.
