The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has intercepted a major drug shipment at the Swiss Port in Tema, seizing 73 slabs of a substance suspected to be cocaine.
The seizure, which occurred on Wednesday, 23rd April 2025, involved a cargo package destined for the Netherlands. Officials from NACOC uncovered the concealed drugs during a routine inspection of outbound freight.
The suspected cocaine weighed a total of 89.74 kilograms, raising serious concerns about the growing sophistication of drug trafficking networks operating through Ghana’s ports.
