A leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Joyce Zempare lost has indicated that Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh’s appointment as the running mate for their party is from God.
She said God in his own wisdom chooses people at certain places and certain times for certain duties so, Napo’s appointment as a running mate is meant to fulfill God’s plan for NPP’s win come December elections.
The National Executive Council (NEC) of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) approved Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh as the running mate for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia for the 2024 general elections.
The National Council endorsed the decision on Thursday after earlier meetings with the National Executive Council, and the National Steering Committee of the party.
Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, popularly known as NAPO, was the Member of Parliament for Manhyia South in the Ashanti Region, former Education Minister and former Energy Minister.
The party highlighted that Dr Opoku Prempeh meets all the criteria for the running mate position, which led to his unanimous approval.
Speaking on Atinka TV’s “Oman mu nsem” show hosted by Nana Owoahene Acheampong, the former Greater Accra Regional Women’s organizer stated the Bawumia and Napo pair is one of the best to move Ghana forward.
Touching on people’s observations on Napo’s utterances, the deputy communications officer for NPP Madam Zimpare noted, that Bawumia’s soft temperament needs a hot temperament person to run hand in hand for a better result.
