NDC, NPP clash leaves six critically injured at Karaga

A clash between the two main political parties New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has left six persons critically injured in the Karaga constituency in the Northern Region.

The six who suffered various degress of injuries are members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Karaga constituency.

Atinkaonline.com sources in the Northern Region say the clash erupted as a result of a misunderstanding between members of both parties during a rally by the NDC in Sung, an area believed to be highly dominated by the NPP.
According to reports, the NDC supporters who were on motorbikes rode into one of the pavilions meant for NPP supporters, an act which did not go down well with the NPP.

This generated into a  misunderstanding and a man from the crowd with a machete attacked the men in the van “butchering” the NPP supporters in the process.

The victims receiving treatment at the Karaga hospital sustained various degrees of machete wounds.
The Northern Region Police command is yet to make an arrest.
