NDC supporters protest alleged offensive comments by Samuel Abu Jinapor

Some supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Wednesday massed up at Parliament House to protest comments allegedly made by the former Lands and Natural Resources Minister, Samuel Abu Jinapor.

The former Minister, who is now the Member of Parliament for Damongo, is accused of calling the Korle Klottey MP, Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, the “daughter of a murderer” during a parliamentary address.

The remarks have drawn outrage from some NDC supporters, who have issued an ultimatum demanding an apology.

Wearing red armbands and chanting songs of protest, the supporters gathered at Parliament to express their displeasure.

The protesters claim that Samuel Abu Jinapor’s alleged comment was not only disrespectful but also an insult to the legacy of the late former President Jerry John Rawlings.

One of the protesters, Ransford Nii Tettey Addy, who is a member of the constituency, spoke to Atinka News, issuing a 24-hour ultimatum for an apology from the Damongo MP.

The protesters warned that failure to issue an unqualified apology would provoke further actions.

Meanwhile, Samuel Abu Jinapor has denied the allegations in a post on his Facebook page.

He described the claims as “absolutely false” and urged the public to disregard them.

According to him, he has the utmost respect for the late former President Jerry John Rawlings, his family, and Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings in particular.
