Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has said that the NDC administration will revoke all “last-minute” government appointments and promotions made by the outgoing New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration.
According to NDC Mr. Asiedu Nketia, the Ghana Revenue Authority’s (GRA) Customers Division, the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA), and the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) are among the organizations from which the NDC has gathered that “last-minute” appointments and promotions are taking place.
The NDC Chairman issued the warning at a thanksgiving rally in Sunyani following the December 7 election victory,
Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketia said that the NPP government had given around 10,000 employment letters and promoted various government officials in public institutions and agencies.
Mr. Asiedu Nketia emphasized that all “last-minute” appointments in the government sector would be removed if shown to be illegal.
“All those who illegally gain recruitment and promotions in the public institutions and agencies would be terminated or reversed,” he said.
