The Women’s Wing of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ahafo Ano South West Constituency of the Ashanti region has strongly protested against the Electoral Commission’s declaration of the parliamentary election results in favor of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate.
The women’s wing, led by Constituency Women Organizer Madam Adwoa Owusuwaa, has vowed to take drastic action, including marching naked from the district to the NDC national office, to express their frustration over what they describe as an injustice.
Speaking to the media, Madam Owusuwaa questioned the credibility of the Electoral Commission’s results, particularly the sudden appearance of 11 polling stations that were allegedly unaccounted for during the initial tally but later influenced the final declaration in favour of the NPP.
She called on the national executives of the NDC to intervene urgently and ensure that the constituency’s seat is reclaimed.
She emphasized that the party’s supporters in the constituency will not accept the results without a thorough investigation into the alleged irregularities.
The situation in the Ahafo Ano South West Constituency remains tense as NDC supporters await a response from their national leadership and the Electoral Commission.
