Netflix just jacked up its prices again

If you thought you already paid too much for Netflix, think again.

The brand perhaps most synonymous with on-demand streaming quietly hiked its pricing this week.

The standard Netflix plan is now $14 per month, a $1 monthly jump from before.

On top of that, the premium plan is now worth $18 monthly, which is a $2 increase from before.

Going from standard to premium unlocks 4K streaming and allows for more concurrent streams.

Netflix’s basic plan, which only allows for one stream at a time and doesn’t even offer HD quality, is still $9 per month.

The last time Netflix raised its prices was in early 2019, so the old rates survived a little less than two years before Netflix felt the need to squeeze more money out of subscribers.

Netflix also recently ended free trials in the United States.

With this increase, Netflix is now solidly more expensive than some of its competitors.

Hulu’s ad-free plan is $12 monthly, Prime Video is $9 on its own, and Disney+ is $7 per month.

HBO Max is technically more expensive at $15 per month, though Netflix’s premium plan is still more pricey.
