Oblogo Chief appeals to Gov’t for security protection for his community

The Chief Of Oblogo in the Greater Accra Region, Nii Oblogo Lante III, has appealed to government to as a matter of urgency deploy security men to protect them.

This, he said is a result of Chieftaincy dispute which is beginning to unravel in the community.

Speaking to Atinka TV news team, the Chief of Oblogo, Nii Oblogo Lante III, said that, it has come to their notice that one Alhaji Isaaka Bulal allegedly wants to be enstooled as the paramount chief in the area .

He indicated that the man in question has been served with a court injunction to desist from his intention of becoming a paramount chief but it assumes he still wants to fight on.

It is in this regard that elders of Oblogo appealing to government to quickly deploy some security and mount surveillance in the community to protect his people.

“We were here when we heard that a certain man wants to assume the position of a paramount chief in our Muslim community, meanwhile the throne is already occupied with a chief. As chiefs, we can see that his actions can bring about chaos in the community so as a matter of urgency, we call on the government to bring us security,” he said.

According to the Chief, Oblogo community has encountered several chieftaincy issues which resulted in bloodshed, so he does not want history to repeat itself.

“We encountered similar chieftaincy issues some years ago which resulted in gunshots and mayhem, therefore, we do not want such to repeat itself,” he added.

Meanwhile the Kyeamehene of the Muslim Community Amidu Bawa also emphasized that, the intention of the man can bring misunderstanding between the Muslim communities so he also called on the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr George Akuffo Dampare to come to their aid.
