The Leader and Founder of the Israel King of Jews Church, Nakoa Prophet Nazareth Ansah Jamson, has called on the public, especially residents within the Ga Traditional Area, to strictly observe the annual ban on drumming and noise-making, which begins on Monday, May 12, 2025.
He emphasized that the observance is a sacred tradition that precedes the celebration of the Homowo Festival, and urged all, including churches and religious bodies, to respect the custom in order to maintain peace and unity in the Greater Accra Region.
Nakoa Nazareth, who also serves as the Noyaa Mantse (Development Chief) of the Onomrako Adain Family, dispelled misconceptions about the ban, stressing that it is not a fetish ritual but a revered cultural observance meant to promote harmony between traditional authorities and residents.
He also cautioned against the practice of waiting for young men to forcibly enforce the ban before compliance, stating that voluntary cooperation was the best way to preserve peaceful coexistence.
As the Spiritual Leader of the Prophets and Spiritual Churches Council, Ghana, Nakoa Nazareth pledged that his church would fully comply with the ban, and called on others to follow suit in the interest of cultural respect and social cohesion.
