The one-week observation for beloved Di Asa star Mama Gee will be held on Friday, June 14, 2025, the family has announced.
The date was confirmed during a condolence visit by a delegation from the Tobinco Media Group, led by Host of Atinka Morning Devotion on Atinka 104.7 FM, Elder Amos, Di Asa host Embosour Hemaa, and Di Asa producer Nii Awuley.

The observance was initially scheduled for May but had to be rescheduled due to the Ga Traditional Council’s ban on noise-making currently in force in some parts of Accra.
Speaking during the visit, Mama Gee’s younger sister, Evelyn Obeng, clarified that contrary to some media reports, the late dancer and reality star was not battling any illness prior to her sudden passing.
“The family wants the public to disregard those false reports,”- Evelyn told Embosoue Hemaa.

Mama Gee, a vibrant contestant in the maiden edition of Atinka TV’s Di Asa reality show, passed away at the 37 Military Hospital shortly after celebrating her 60th birthday.
She was the first runner-up to Love in Season 1 and earned the nickname “Female Michael Jackson” for her electric dance moves and unmatched charisma on stage.
She was also known for her political ambitions, having contested as an assembly member aspirant for the Ofankor Electoral Area.
Mama Gee leaves behind three beautiful daughters. Her death has shocked fans and supporters who admired her joyful spirit and energetic performances.
The family says further funeral arrangements will be communicated to the public in due course.
